Women in Agriculture Development Programme - RP&S guidance

Description

1) Practical training fund for women in agriculture; 2) Grant funding to relevant third sector organisations for activities that increase gender equality and provide women driven activities, networking, knowledge transfer and projects;

Purpose

Women and girls are an integral part of Scottish agriculture and Scottish Government is committed to Scottish agriculture becoming a fairer, more inclusive industry as part of thriving rural communities and an equitable Scotland. The Women in Agriculture Development Programme (WiADP) delivers some of the outcomes of the Ministerial appointed Women in Agriculture Taskforce. By providing funding to enable women to develop practical and business knowledge and skills, build networks and access opportunities creating diverse and therefore innovative and resilient agricultural business and industry, contributing to local communities and the rural economy as well as to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly farming future. It also supports third sector organisations and projects delivering relevant women led local and national outcomes.

Enabling Thriving Rural Communities

  • WiADP tackles gender inequality in agriculture creating a diverse and resilient industry contributing to rural communities and the rural economy

  • WiADP provides direct support to women and girls to increase their knowledge and skills to enable more innovative and resilient businesses adapt and deliver climate change mitigation and adaptation

  • A diverse agricultural industry encourages innovation in nature restoration and climate mitigation
  • WiADP increases knowledge in nature restoration and climate mitigation

Support for a Just Transition

  • A diverse agricultural industry encourages innovation in sustainable and regenerative agricultural practices
  • WiAD increases knowledge in sustainable and regenerative practices

  • You must be a woman or girl aged 13+
  • You must be living or working in Scottish agriculture or keen to join the industry
  • Available Scotland wide

Requirements

  • Grants applicants must adhere to grant conditions including Fair Work First
