In 2025 a consultation was held, Voices in Justice - a Consultation on parole reform in Scotland. It asked victims, people in custody, justice professionals, and the wider public for their views on the parole system. This document is the summary of those response in easy read format.

Sharing information about Parole Board decisions
Parole Board decisions can be a summary or have all the information.
Some organisations and people who have not been in prison thought a summary was enough.
Prisoners and ex-prisoners want the person in custody to see all the information about their parole decision.
Everyone agreed that any reports or information should not include names or addresses.
It was agreed that it was important that everyone has
