Housing

We know that on some of our islands there is not enough housing. The Plan wants to increase housing by:

  • Helping local councils to work together with communities to understand housing needs.
  • Increasing funding for delivering houses. Helping key workers such as nurses and teachers find a home.
  • Having less empty homes and helping communities to decide what is the right number of second and holiday homes.
  • Helping island communities with planning applications to make it easier to build new homes.
