Equality duty - mainstreaming report 2023-2025: summary - easy read

Provides an update on the progress we are making to mainstream the equality duty as an employer and decision-maker. It also provides reflection on our progress towards achieving our equality outcomes for the 2021 to 2025 reporting period.

Why Report on Mainstreaming?

The Scottish Government wants to deliver high-quality public services. We want to make life better for the people of Scotland and be a good example of how to advance equality.

The rules on equality also say we have to publish a Mainstreaming Report. This must show what we are doing to meet the needs of people with protected characteristics.

Protected characteristics are things about a person that might cause them to be treated unfairly, like their age, disability, pregnancy, race, religion, and sex.

This report is part of our promise to be more open about what we do. It will tell people what we are doing and let them decide if we are doing well.
