Chief People Officer
Rob Malpass was appointed as Interim Chief People Officer in June 2026.
Responsibilities
The Chief People Officer is responsible for the leadership and strategic direction for the Scottish Government’s people agenda. The Chief People Officer attends Corporate Board and Executive Team.
Biography
Rob joined the Civil Service in 2003 and has worked in a number of UK government departments including the Ministry of Defence, Cabinet Office and Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). Originally working for Scottish Government from 2016, he re-joined in 2022 as Deputy Director for HR Business Partnering.
Rob is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD.
