Property Data Standard for InSite
This standard sets mandatory requirements for managing property and land data in InSite, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and transparency. It supports collaboration and strategic planning through common data governance and validation for organisations subject to SPFM.
7. Data Ownership and Sharing
User Organisations are the owners of their information stored in InSite. As such, they are the Data Controller of their information and responsible for FOI purposes.
The Standard adopts the principle of open sharing of property data across all organisations subject to the SPFM, meaning organisations will be able to view the property, building and contract data held within InSite across the wider public sector estate.
This approach supports collaboration and reflects the commitment to transparency and evidence-based decision making. By enabling visibility of vital property information, we can all better identify opportunities for co-location, shared services and estate optimisation.
