In 2024:

105,000 hectares were farmed fully organically in Scotland, an increase of 1.4% from 2023 and 26% from 2018. This represents 2.0% of the total agricultural area in Scotland.

27,000 hectares were in-conversion to become organic farming land, over double the area in-conversion in 2023, and over triple the area in 2018.

46% of organic farming land in Scotland was in the Highlands and Islands, 28% in Southern Scotland, 17% in Eastern Scotland, 9% in North Eastern Scotland, and less than 1% in West Central Scotland.

Permanent pasture (including rough grazing) accounted for 82% of organic farming land in Scotland, covering 86,000 hectares.

4.7% of organic farming land in Scotland was used to grow cereals (4,900 hectares).

Around 2% of cattle, sheep, and poultry were farmed organically in Scotland.
