First Minister's National Advisory Council on Women and Girls First Phase Two Report: Scottish Government Response - Easy Read

An Easy Read version of the Scottish Government's response to the First Minister's National Advisory Council on Women and Girls first Phase Two report. The response addresses each of the 21 Calls to Action included in the report.

Mental health support

Mental health problems can affect anyone but women and girls often face extra pressure including:

  • being a carer
  • stress about money
  • discrimination – this means being treated unfairly or worse than other people for some reason
  • loneliness
  • fear of violence

The Scottish Government plans to have more mental health support in schools, colleges, and communities.

They want to make it easier to get help early, before problems get more serious.

They are also putting money into services that women can get in their local areas.
