Cost of living support
The cost of living means the cost of everyday things we need like food, clothes and heating.
The rising cost of living is affecting many women and girls.
The price of food, rent, transport, and energy has gone up.
Women on low incomes, single mothers, disabled women and migrant women often face the hardest challenges.
Some people find it difficult to get support because:
- they speak a language that is not English
- they cannot use things that use the internet like computers or smart phones
- forms are too difficult to understand
The Scottish Government says support must be easier to understand and get.
They plan to make systems simpler and easier to use so more people get the help they are entitled to.
