Single Scottish Estate (SSE) Programme: reflections and progress report
This reflections report showcases what the Single Scottish Estate has achieved in its first two years of delivery, highlighting successes of the programme.
9. Communications and Engagement
The SSE Programme’s ambitious scale requires a comprehensive approach to communications and engagement. To ensure that stakeholders are informed and have the opportunity to contribute to the Programme’s development, we developed a Communications & Engagement Plan. We also published a Vision and Principles document for the Programme, which was developed with governance members. The agreed Vision for the Programme is:
“Working collaboratively, we will transform the public sector property estate, ensuring effective and efficient operations for its occupants, delivering benefits, propelling the estate towards net zero and enabling the delivery of excellent public services.”
We are committed to delivering clear, consistent communications through a mix of face-to-face and digital channels. We value stakeholder input and ensure it is used to best advantage, and we encourage you to participate and share any appropriate communication and engagement opportunities, which will help shape the Programme’s future.
Some examples of recent work include:
- Maximising Scot Gov webpages dedicated to SSE, ensuring content is up to date and reflective of the SSE Programme’s progress to date.
- A briefing pack, including case studies, are published on the SSE webpages highlighting progress.
- Direct engagement with public bodies, including presenting on SSE at many stakeholder meetings and events.
- Key Messages and a Q&A document with most frequently asked questions to support stakeholder awareness of SSE.
- Awareness raising for new Property Controls guidance.
