Area used to grow vegetables for human consumption continues to be larger than the stockfeed area

Since 2015, the area used to grow vegetables for human consumption (excluding potatoes) has shown a general upward trend, while crops grown for animal feed (stockfeed) has remained relatively stable.

In 2025, the vegetable crop area reached 22,700 hectares, an increase of 5.4% compared with the five-year average. The increase in the area of vegetables for human consumption has mainly come from the increase in peas for canning, freezing and drying, which have increased by 11% when compared with the five-year average. Stockfeed crop area was 17,000 hectares, an increase of 3.5% compared with the five-year average.
