Continued rise in planted potato area
The planted potato area has increased for the second year in a row and is now at its highest level since 2011, when it reached 31,100 hectares.
In 2025, the total area was 30,400 hectares, an increase of 8.2% compared with the five-year average (28,100 hectares). Seed potatoes increased by 9.8% to 13,400 hectares, while ware potatoes increased by 6.9% to 17,000 hectares.
