Annex K: Evaluation Survey Questions - Service Users

Explanatory/introductory note for survey participants

The Scottish Government has committed to improving access to, and delivery of, gender identity healthcare services in Scotland. It has allocated a total of £9 million to NHS Health Boards with Gender Identity Clinics (GICs) over a three-year period from 2022 to 2025 to fund new service models, address waiting times, support those waiting to access services, and improve outcomes for patients.

This survey is part of an independent evaluation of gender identity services commissioned by the Scottish Government, and is carried out by Horizons Research. This evaluation is looking at the impact of this Scottish Government funding on gender identity services, with regards to aims such as addressing waiting times, and achieving sustainable service improvement for those accessing gender identity care. As part of the study, we are keen to hear the views of people accessing or seeking to access gender identity services in Scotland.

All data we gather through the survey will be held in accordance with GDPR and UK Data Protection Act regulations, and will form part of a broader evidence base which will be used to undertake an evaluation of the effect of Scottish Government funding on access to, and delivery of, gender identity healthcare services. The findings from this evaluation will be published in a Scottish Government report at the end of 2024. Any information you provide through the survey will be anonymised, so your name will not be used in any reports or publications resulting from the study.

Thank you in advance for your time and participation in the survey - we value all input and look forward to your contribution to the research.
