Annex: Oilseed rape and linseed
Items included
Estimates of oilseeds and oleaginous fruits include estimates for oilseed rape and linseed. Linseed is a small crop in Scotland and results are not separated from results for oilseed rape.

Quantities
Quantity = total area (June Agricultural Census) x average yield (CPDS)).
Production of oilseed is derived from our annual CPDS. We obtain an oilseed yield from the survey, which is applied to the oilseed rape (rotational) area from the June Agricultural Census.
Prices
Prices (£/tonne) for oilseed rape (rotational and set-aside) were sourced from published records of Farmer’s Weekly until 2019 and from 2020 onwards The Anderson’s Centre.
Value of output
Value of output = (tonnage x price) + support payment
There are currently no support payments directly relating to cereal production.
