Total income from farming (TIFF) is the official measure of the profit gained by the agricultural industry in Scotland. It provides a breakdown of the value of farm production, support payments and costs. An Accredited Official Statistics publication for Scotland.

Data and methodology

Data source

TIFF estimates are calculated using a large number of data sources. These include Scottish Government data such as the June Agricultural Census and the Farm Business Survey which is used to produce estimates of Farm Business Income, prices and volumes data from the appropriate industry bodies, and bespoke surveys run by the Scottish Government or its contractors.
