Figure 11: Map of North-east Faroe Shetland Channel MPA showing prohibited areas for demersal fishing gear. Mobile gear is banned in the northern hatched zone, while both mobile and static gear are banned in the southern hatched zone.
This map shows the North-east Faroe Shetland Channel MPA. The site boundary is outlined in blue. The northern hatched area restricts demersal mobile gear, and the southern hatched area restricts both mobile and static gear. Deep-sea muds and sands distribution are shown. Blue dots mark deep-sea sponge aggregations. The map includes 600 m and 800 m depth contours. An inset map shows the site's location northeast of Scotland.
