Shellfish WatProtected area designations - amending proposals: partial business and regulatory impact assessment
This partial business and regulatory impact assessment (BRIA) aims to identify the benefits and impact of the proposed designations and de-designations on affected groups in Scotland.
5. Engagement completed, ongoing and planned
5.1 Public Sector
FSS - to gather information on economically significant shellfish production to undertake the review of SWPA designations.
SEPA – who undertook the review of SWPA designations and as part of regular discussions related to the protection and improvement of Scotland’s water environment.
Scottish Water – Through discussions at a working group to support the review of SWPAs in recognition of the potential implications for their assets and future investment programmes. We are planning to undertake additional engagement through the consultation accompanying this partial BRIA, which may lead to updates or refinement of the costs set out below.
5.2 Business
Representatives of the Association of Scottish Shellfish Growers were engaged through a short-term working group to support discussions on the review of SWPA designations.
5.3 Public consultation
This partial BRIA accompanies the public consultation “A Review of Scotland’s Shellfish Water Protected Area Designations: Consultation”.
