Part 5. Overall Impact

Impact means what happens because of a change.

The new plan will:

• help the system plan ahead. Legal help can be based on what people need.
• make everyone’s jobs clear.

• make sure people take responsibility for their work.
• let Scottish Ministers and the Scottish Parliament check the work.

The new law will make legal aid simpler and allow decisions to be made faster. Better funding rules will make it fairer for everyone.

But we must make choices. We need your views to make this new law work.
