Decreases in area and yield drive decreased wheat production
In 2024, wheat yield is 8.4 tonnes per hectare, below the 5-year average.
Total wheat production is around 0.83 million tonnes. This is a decrease of 16% compared to 2023 as a result of decreases in yield (8%) and area (9%).
