Composition of cereal production in 2024

Barley accounts for 66% of total cereals produced in Scotland in 2024. Most barley in Scotland is spring barley. Spring barley makes up around 55% of total cereal production. Around 11% of total cereals is winter barley.

Wheat is the second most widespread crop, making up around 28% of total cereal production.

Oats contribute around 6% to total cereals produced.
