Social Security - Adult Disability Payment consultation: Scottish Government response - easy read

An easy read version of the Scottish Government's response to the Adult Disability Payment consultation.

Terminal Illness

Most agreed with the draft rules on terminal illness. Some said they supported awards for terminally ill people to be life-long. Others asked for more information on the rules about this.

Scottish Government Reply

We have made a commitment that all awards made under terminal illness rules will be 'life-long' awards. There will be no review dates for these awards.

There will be new rules for Social Security Scotland practitioners and case managers on the process they should follow. This guidance has been developed with the help of medical staff and other organisations.
