This report outlines how the Ministerial Accountability Board oversaw progress on 43 recommendations and actions arising from three Fatal Accident Inquiries of deaths in prison custody.
More Changes Needed
- Better information sharing for people going from court to prison. This needs all justice services to work together.
- New information to be available to help people in prison with their mental health.
- Rules about what people can keep in their cells so they stay safe.
- Need to find safer bedding for cells.
- Families need advocacy services. Advocacy is support to have your voice heard.
- Keep working on making the prison service responsible for things that might be crimes.
