Activity since last update
The Scottish Government has reviewed the function, operation, remit and membership of the Ministerial Working Group on Building and Fire Safety which will continue to have cross Government oversight of issues relating building and fire safety.
While the operation of the Ministerial Working Group on Building and Fire Safety, including its oversight of progress with the Grenfell recommendations, will continue to be reviewed, this recommendation is now considered as complete.

Recommendation 4 - Chief Construction Adviser Appointment

Activity since last update
The following preparatory work has been progressed:
- Mapping of the construction policy landscape across Scottish Government to identify interfaces, regulatory responsibilities and potential overlaps.
- Allocation of financial resources to progress the options appraisal.
Planned activity
- Officials will continue to engage with the UK Government and other Devolved Administrations.
- Review and finalisation of milestones for the completion of an options appraisal.
Issue 2 - Banning Companies (to stop them being awarded Government contracts)

Planned activity
Procurement is a devolved matter. We will continue to monitor what is being done by the UK Government in respect of any legislative plans to disbar companies from competition for public contracts.
