3. What people thought about our plans for making it easier to see progress

In this document, taking responsibility for work being done is called accountability.

In this document, being open and honest about work being done is called transparency.

9 out of every 10 people agreed that accountability and transparency are very important to make equality and human rights part of all decisions.

Some people said that it will let everyone see the progress made.

Some people were worried about how much money it would cost to do this work.

Half the people who answered agreed that the Strategy has the important parts of accountability and transparency.

Some people:

  • asked for more information about how it would work in real life
  • asked which organisations would be checking
  • asked if the information could be shared in ways that everyone can get and understand
