Equality and Human Rights Mainstreaming Strategy: consultation analysis - easy read
Easy read version of the independent analysis of our consultation on an Equality and Human Rights Mainstreaming Strategy.
About the consultation
A consultation is a set of questions to find out what people think about something.

We are working to make equality and human rights part of every decision we make and part of all our work.

Equality means treating everyone fairly and giving everyone the same choices and chances.

Human rights mean freedoms that are protected in law. They belong to everyone.

Our consultation asked questions to find out what people in Scotland think about our plans.

We call our plans ‘the Strategy’.

There were 48 questions.
We organised the questions into 8 parts.

People and organisations sent in their answers between October 2024 and February 2025.

1 hundred and 23 people and organisations answered our questions.

They included:
- members of the public
- local councils
- public organisations – like schools, police and hospitals
- colleges and universities
- charities

We also held 2 events where about 1 hundred people came along.

We took everyone’s answers from both the consultation and the events.
This report tells you some of the main things people told us.
