Climate action hubs: apply to set one up

A national network of climate action hubs is being set up to support communities to take forward climate action in their areas. Find out how to apply to set up a hub.

What you can apply for

The amount of funding you can apply for depends on the size and population of the area covered by the hub, and other support available in the region.

As a guide we would expect:

  • £75,000 to £100,000 for hubs in local council areas with a population under 100,000
  • £100,000 to £250,000 for hubs covering council areas with a population of 100,000 or more

We are open to discussing funding options with groups proposing to cover larger populations, or multiple local authority areas.

There is limited funding available so you should only ask for what you need to set the hub up and carry out some initial activity in the first year. Do not ask for funding for activity already being delivered in your area.

We encourage applicants to explore additional funding sources.

In the application form you will be asked to provide a detailed breakdown of all project costs, as well as details of any match funding. Any funding allocated must be spent by end March 2024.
