Children in Residential Care Statistics
Statistics on children in residential care using data from Scotland's Census 2022.
General health
In 2022, most children were reported to have good or very good general health, although this proportion was lower for children in residential care (92%) than for children in households (97%). A higher proportion of children in residential care were reported to have fair general health (7%), compared to those in households (3%). The proportion of children reported to have bad or very bad health was similar, at 1% for both groups.
