Children in Residential Care Statistics
Statistics on children in residential care using data from Scotland's Census 2022.
Disability
In 2022, the proportion of children in residential care with an activity limiting health problem or disability which has lasted, or is expected to last, at least 12 months was 18%.
As children in residential care tend to be older, some differences in the prevalence of health conditions from children in households are likely due to some health conditions and their impact becoming more apparent with age.
The proportion of children in households with an activity limiting health problem or disability which has lasted, or is expected to last, at least 12 months was 9%.
