Allotments guidance for local authorities: consultation

Purpose of this Guidance

Part 9 of the Act brought forward a requirement for local authorities to have regard to any guidance issued by the Scottish Ministers about the carrying out of functions conferred on the authority by this Part.

Much of Part 9 will not require further guidance as the wording needs no further explanation or expansion, however Ministers identified a number of sections in the Act, which are set out below, where it was considered that further guidance for local authorities to assist them in carrying out their duties would be helpful.

A consultation on proposed wording for these particular areas requiring further guidance was conducted from August to November 2017.
