Violence Prevention Framework for Scotland: Monitoring Framework, 2025
Monitoring framework to support the delivery of the Violence Prevention Framework for Scotland.
Part of
Outcome category 1: Reducing the prevalence and incidence of violence
The VPF seeks to prevent all forms of interpersonal violence, focused on – but not limited to – reducing non-sexual interpersonal violence. This outcome category includes indicators that draw on official sources of data to monitor – at national level – changes over time in the extent and characteristics of violence in Scotland.
Indicator one (reduction in all forms of interpersonal violence) introduces - at a high level - different forms of interpersonal violence, including sexual violence and domestic abuse. Thereafter the indicator themes provide more granular detail on types of violence which align closest with the focus of the VPF action plan, including: non-sexual interpersonal violence, repeat violent victimisation, violence in the evening economy and in public, and weapons-related violence.
