Supporting Scotland's transition - land use and agriculture: easy read

This consultation seeks views on a draft Land use and Agriculture Just Transition Plan. The Plan sets out how we are working towards achieving Scotland’s Net Zero ambitions in a fair and just way for people and communities working in or with our land-based industries.

Why a just transition is important

Land use and agriculture are part of our net zero goals. Land use includes planting trees and helping nature. Agriculture means farming. It has a key role to remove harmful gases out of the atmosphere.

Our land and the people who look after it give us food, energy, land and wood. These let us build homes and places people can go for exercise and leisure.

Moving to Net Zero will need us all to make big changes. It will not be easy. We will all have to help.
