Sheep and goat condensed guidance

In Scotland, sheep and goat identification and traceability are vital for disease prevention, control, eradication and the protection of public health. This condensed guidance is designed to be a handy companion to, and complement, the existing sheep and goat guidance already available.

Performance moves

Performance moves are movements of sheep and goats (and other species) to and from non-agricultural premises that may not have a CPH number.

These include, for example, village halls, school halls, fetes, shopping centres, churches, garden centres and film studios. True shows – exhibitions of animals from more than one source – are not included in this definition.

You need to contact APHA to arrange a performance move. APHA will issue a temporary CPH to the location so that the movement can be recorded. On and off movements must be reported to SAMU in full at both destinations.
