Sheep and goat condensed guidance
In Scotland, sheep and goat identification and traceability are vital for disease prevention, control, eradication and the protection of public health. This condensed guidance is designed to be a handy companion to, and complement, the existing sheep and goat guidance already available.
Movement documentation
All movements of sheep and goats must be recorded using a triplicate movement document (white, yellow and pink copies).
- The departure keeper retains the pink copy.
- The transporter carries the white and yellow copies.
- The receiving keeper retains yellow copy and sends white copy to the Scottish Animal Movement Unit (SAMU) within 3 days.
