Scotland's Fourth Land Use Strategy: islands communities impact assessment
Islands communities impact assessment for Scotland's Fourth Land Use Strategy.
3. Consultation
What information has already been gathered through consultations and what concerns have been raised previously by island communities?
A formal consultation has been carried out, and a series of engagement events have taken place with a wide range of stakeholders including a bespoke event with the Scottish Islands Federation. This sought, and has provided, views and specific suggestions for how the strategy will impact island communities. These valuable insights, along with the other views from our consultation, will have an important role in the ongoing work of the Strategy. As such we will consider specific recommendations to address these during the development of the delivery plan, during which we will review this ICIA and seek further consultation with relevant stakeholders, as appropriate.
Is your consultation robust and meaningful and sufficient to comply with the Section 7 duty?
Yes. It specifically sought information on the potential impact on island communities, and this information will be considered when finalising the strategy and developing the delivery plan.
