Food and drink high in fat, sugar and salt - out of home advertising restrictions: rapid evidence review

Rapid evidence review on the current restrictions on out of home advertising of products high in fat, sugar and salt across local governments in England.

Results

Twenty-two local authorities were identified as having considered implementing or had implemented a policy around restricting OOH advertising of HFSS products. The table in Annex 3 lists fourteen of these local authorities with published evidence of implemented or forthcoming policy, with linked policy documents where available. The table also shows the current status of the policy, details about the restrictions and additional relevant information that emerged relating to individual local authorities. See also Table one below, which summarises the details of the five local authorities with whom conversations were held. In addition, conversations were held with the industry group OUTSMART and the advocacy group Sustain.
