Scottish Pig Producers Support Scheme: how to apply
This grant helps eligible pig producers cover losses caused by falling pig prices.
Overview
The Scottish Pig Producers Support Scheme is a £2 million scheme to help independent pig producers in Scotland with financial losses caused by recent market challenges.
What the scheme covers
If you are an eligible independent pig producer, you can claim the difference between the price you received for your pigs and 85% of the Standard Pig Price (SPP) - the average UK deadweight price.
The scheme covers losses from 1 March 2026 to 31 August 2026.
How awards are calculated
Your payment will be calculated for each invoice separately. We'll multiply the total pay weight by 85% of the SPP and your award will be the difference between that total and the price you received, not including any gross adjustments.
The closing date for applications is 15 September 2026.
