Scottish Pig Producers Support Scheme: how to apply
This grant helps eligible pig producers cover losses caused by falling pig prices.
How to apply
You do not have to wait until the end of the scheme to apply. You can submit one form now covering the period from 1 March to 30 June 2026, and a second form later covering the period from 1 July to 31 August 2026.
To apply you should:
- Download the application form - you can find this in the 'Supporting documents' section
- Complete the form on your device
- Print and hand-sign the signature page only (Section 7 - Declaration and Grant Signature, page 14), then scan or photograph it
- Keep one copy of your completed form for your own records
- Gather your supporting evidence - scanned copies of animal kill sheets showing the price paid for the slaughter of your pigs within the eligible period
- Email a Word version of your completed form and a signed signature page, along with your supporting evidence, to pigproducers.support@gov.scot by 15 September 2026.
What to include
Your application should include:
- a Word copy of your completed application form
- a scanned copy or photograph of the hand-signed signature page
- supporting evidence of the price paid for the slaughter of your pigs (for example, scanned copies of animal kill sheets)
After you apply
We will not consider applications that claim for losses outside the eligible period of 1 March to 31 August 2026 (based on slaughter date), or applications that are late or incomplete.
Once you submit your application, you will receive an email asking for further details to allow payments to be processed.
Payments will be prioritised in the order in which they are received.
