Scottish Pig Producers Support Scheme: how to apply
This grant helps eligible pig producers cover losses caused by falling pig prices.
Eligibility
Who can apply
You can apply if you are an independent pig producer based in Scotland.
Who cannot apply
Pig producers under the same ownership as the operators of the abattoir are not eligible for the scheme.
What funding can be used for
Funding covers the difference between the price you received for your pigs and 85% of the Standard Pig Price (SPP), which is the average UK deadweight price. This applies to payments received through abattoirs for onward food processing.
Eligibility period
The scheme covers losses incurred from 1 March 2026 to 31 August 2026 (based on slaughter date).
