No One Left Behind: strategic plan - first annual report

This first annual report on the Employability Strategic Plan 2024-2027 demonstrates how we are working in partnership, harnessing the expertise of organisations taking a cross sectoral, collaborative approach to delivering improvements to Scotland’s employability services.

5. Our next steps together – a look ahead to Year 2

We will continue to build on the ambitions and policy aims set out in the Strategic Plan. We will work together to assess the impact of our strengthened networks and updated guidance documents to ensure they are supporting improved experiences and outcomes for people accessing our services. We will also use the learning from independent evaluation activity to inform and drive improvement to policy and delivery.

As we move forward, we will pivot our focus to the medium and long term actions. This will include further development of our communications activity, improvement of the Shared Measurement Framework, aligning our parental employability support actions with the next Tackling Child Poverty Action Plan and exploring training and qualification requirements for employability delivery staff.

Whilst there are changes in the Scottish policy landscape, devolved employability services must also be responsive to changes at a UK level. As we move into Year 2 of the plan, we will continue to work with UK Government on the implications of the ‘Get Britain Working’ white paper.

We remain committed to being transparent and we will continue to publish annual reports and we will jointly review the priorities for our next annual report to ensure they still reflect the policy and delivery landscape. Over the remaining period of this Strategic Plan, we will continue to deliver strengthened partnerships, more aligned and integrated support, and most importantly, better outcomes for those accessing our services.
