3. No One Left Behind Statistics – October 2025
Employability in Scotland today
- At least 69,277 positive outcomes achieved by the 92,523 people supported
- 28,699 (31%) participants have entered employment
- At least 17,322 positive outcomes achieved by the 28,030 parents supported
- 7,677 parents (27%) entered employment
Reach
- Continued increase in proportion of participants with a disability starting support, from 18% in year 1 (2019/20) to 33% in year 6 (2024/25).
- Continued increase in proportion of participants with a long-term health condition starting support, increase from 40% in year 5 (2023/24) to 46% in year 6 (2024/25).
- Continued increase in proportion of participants from a minority ethnic background starting support, from 3% in year 1 (2019/20) to 16% in year 6 (2024/25).
- Young people (under 25) are much more likely to have no or limited work experience (63%) compared to older participants (25 and over) (18%).
- 92,523 people have received support through No One Left Behind since April 2019
- Year 6 (2024/25) has seen the highest proportion of participants with a criminal conviction (7%), childcare as a barrier (18%) and transport as a barrier (22%).
- Parents with a disability increased from 12% in year 2 (2020/21) to 30% in year 6 (2024/25).
- Continued increase in proportion of participants who are parents starting support, from 20% in year 2 (2020/21) (parents only recorded from year 2) to 37% in year 6 (2024/25).
- Female participants account for most parents. However, the proportion of male parents accessing support has generally increased over time from 18% in year 2 (2020/21) to 32% in year 6 (2024/25).
- Parents with a disabled adult or child within the family, increased from 8% in year 2 (2020/21) to 21% in year 6 (2024/25).
- Parents from a minority ethnic background, increased from 10% in year 2 (2020/21) to 24% in year 6 (2024/25).
