National Care Service: Health and Social Care Standards - Co-design Partnership Programme report - Easy read version

This is an easy read report from sessions Scottish Government held to review the Health and Social Care Standards. These sessions were part of our Co-design Partnership Programme.

What we learned

At the sessions, people told us:

  • They found the standards useful for seeing what good care looks like.

  • There are differences between what the standards say and what really happens.

  • The standards are used in different ways across different services.

  • We should make it clearer to people how the standards can help support their human rights.

Human Rights are rights and freedoms everyone has, by law.

  • The words used in the standards are difficult to read. The document is not accessible.

  • Lots of people have not heard of the standards or do not know what they are for.
