What we found out
- People think recorded matters should be used with forensic mental health orders. It would be fair to treat forensic patients the same as civil patients. It would respect their human rights.
- People have concerns about how to make the changes work. Some care or treatment may not be available.
- Independent advocacy and legal support would be needed for some people.
- Guidance, training and standard forms will be needed. Information must be accessible for all.
- Disability, culture and trauma need to be thought about. Child rights must be thought about. Any family contact must be safe.
- Some asked for checks after the changes are made to see how well things are working.
