The EU remains Scotland’s top destination, accounting for around 38% of the value of Scotland’s total goods exports.
In the most recent 12 months, Scotland’s goods exports to the EU decreased by 2% to £9.1 billion since the previous year.
The greatest decreases in exports to the EU over this period were in Chemical materials & products (down 25%), Organic chemicals (down 40%) and Drink (down 4%).
The largest positive changes for EU exports were seen in Power generating machinery (up 23%), Telecomms & sound recording (up 28%) and Metalliferous ores & metal scrap (up 40%).

The largest increases in goods exports in the last 12 months has been to Latin America and the Caribbean (up 45%) and Western Europe (up 16%), though exports to EU decreased by 2% and Middle East and North Africa decreased by 6%.
