Electricity Storage

As of the end of June 2026, there were 27 operational electricity storage projects with an estimated capacity of 1,663 MW in Scotland (Figure 4). Of these there were:

• 25 battery storage projects with an estimated capacity of 923 MW; and
• 2 pumped hydro storage projects with an estimated capacity of 740 MW.
