UK Covid-19 Inquiry - Module 2 report: Scottish Government response - easy read
Easy read version of the Scottish Government's response to the recommendations set out in the UK Covid-19 Inquiry's module 2 report.
Introduction
Module 2 is the 2nd part of the UK Covid-19 Inquiry. It looked at decision making during the Covid pandemic and suggested ways to make this better in the future. The Inquiry has asked us questions.
This document is the response to the recommendations made. We respond as clearly as possible.
We split the recommendations into 4 areas. The recommendations are not in number order. Recommendations not for Scotland are left out.
The 4 areas are:
1. Science and expert advice
2. Communications and digital. Digital means computer and internet
3. Decision making plan for the most vulnerable
4. Working with other governments.
The 4 areas were also looked at by the Covid Inquiries Response Engagement Group. Their opinion is included in this document.
Covid Inquiries Response Engagement Group is a group set up to help the Scottish Government look at its response to the report.
A pandemic is when a new disease spreads around the world.
The UK Covid-19 Inquiry report has 19 recommendations. Some are not for Scotland so we will not include them in this document. This is why some numbers are missing.
We will choose a person in government to make sure we do what we need to do for each recommendation.
