What people told us

To make this plan, we talked to children, young people, parents, and people who help families. They told us what makes life hard and what makes life easier.

Over 180 children and young people told us about their experiences.

People said it is important to help families:

• find good jobs and to get more money for the work they do
• get all the money they should from benefits, like our Scottish Child Payment
• spend less on everyday things, like food, housing, keeping their house warm, and transport

They also said help should be:

• easy to find
• there when they need it
• kind and respectful

We shared your ideas with the people in the Scottish Government who make decisions.
