Bringing Hope, Building Futures: Tackling child poverty delivery plan 2026-2031 – Children's version

A children’s version of Bringing Hope, Building Futures: the third tackling child poverty delivery plan 2026 to 2031

Tackling Child Poverty Delivery Plan 2026-2031

Hello

To the children and young people of Scotland,

The Scottish Government cares a lot about you. We want every child to grow up happy, healthy, and able to do the things they enjoy. We also want to make sure no family has to worry too much about money.

It’s important to remember that poverty is never a child or family’s fault. Families can have less money for a lot of reasons — like a parent losing a job, someone becoming sick, or needing to care for someone. Anyone can need help sometimes.

That is why the government, schools, councils, and communities all work together to make sure that not having as much money does not stop children living good lives.

To make this plan, we listened to children and young people from all over Scotland. Thank you for telling us what matters to you. What you said helped us understand what children and families need to feel safe and supported.

This plan explains what you told us and what we are going to do next.

We will keep listening to you to make sure we are doing the right things.
