Annex 7 Bail Supervision Warnings Process

1st non-engagement

Action – bail supervisor investigates and discusses with line manager

If acceptable non-engagement

  • proceed to in-person discussion and adjustment of management plan if required
  • proceed to – continue with bail supervision
  • stop

If not acceptable non-engagement

  • proceed to 1st written warning issued via recorded delivery and recorded in case file
  • proceed to in-person discussion and adjustment of management plan if required
  • proceed to – continue with bail supervision
  • stop

2nd non-engagement

Action – bail supervisor investigates and discusses with line manager

If acceptable non-engagement,

  • proceed to in-person discussion and adjustment of management plan if required
  • proceed to – continue with bail supervision
  • stop

If not acceptable non-engagement

  • proceed to 2nd written warning issued via recorded delivery and recorded in case file
  • proceed to in-person discussion and adjustment of management plan if required
  • proceed to – continue with bail supervision
  • stop

3rd non-engagement

If acceptable non-engagement,

  • proceed to in-person discussion and adjustment of management plan if required
  • proceed to – continue with bail supervision
  • stop

If not acceptable non-engagement

  • proceed to breach report submitted to Police Scotland for investigation
  • proceed to individual informed where appropriate and recorded in case file
  • proceed to await outcome and maintain contact with the individual in the interim
  • stop
