Universal Credit Scottish Choices – management information to March 2026

Management information on the number of Universal Credit (UC) recipients in Scotland who were offered, and who took up, UC Scottish choices.

There is some variation between local authorities in the proportion of people receiving UC that are eligible for both types of Scottish Choices, and also in the acceptance rates for each scheme (Chart 6). These variations are likely to be due to the differing circumstances of clients in different areas, which will relate to a number of factors such the type of housing available.

Four local authorities (Scottish Borders, Orkney, Shetland and Falkirk) have more than 50% of recipients eligible for both schemes, and eleven have more than 20% of eligible clients with both choices active.
