Scottish Welfare Fund Statistics: update to 31 March 2026
The annual update of Scottish Welfare Fund Statistics for 2025-26. This includes annual statistics on Community Care Grants and Crisis grants from 2013, as well as quarterly breakdowns from 2021.

The proportion of Community Care Grant applications that were repeats was 27%, unchanged between 2024-25 and 2025-26; while 12% of awards were repeats, two percentage points higher than in 2024-25 (Table 70 and 72).
At the same time, the proportions of Crisis Grant applications (71%) and awards (62%) that were repeats increased by one and two percentage points, respectively (Table 74 and 76).
Repeat application and award proportions have been broadly steady in recent years (Chart 11). Crisis Grant repeat applications were over 70% from 2022 to 2024, and, after sitting at close to 70% for more than a year, a recent small rise has been seen. This pattern has been mirrored by Crisis awards.
Community Care Grants have a much lower level of repeats, and they declined to a recent low in late 2024, but have been climbing slowly since.
